Our story
Why Gurjara? Gurjara was the ancient royal dynasty which ruled India from VI to XII century. According to sanskrit, “Gur” means “enemy” and “jar” means “destroyers”.
These “destroyers of enemies” have built many kingdoms and always protected India for centuries, prior to the Mughal period. This rich and brave community has inspired us and gave birth to Gurjara 1857, a cooperative of talentuous indian artisans.
It is a very beautiful collaboration on a human angle. On the artistic and professional level, it is a guarantee of quality and authenticity.
Our emotions and impressions were such, through discovering the cultural wealth of Gurjar that we wanted to share them with you their extraordinary cultural heritage.
