MY O'BE MAG N°1

The Art to Feel, The Art to Live, The Art to BE

Why My O’BE and Bali?

Because Balinese artists have incredible talents. We consider of course the real artists and not the one who sold « Buddhas” on street corners for tourist traps! These last one spoil the true Balinese art. The real Balinese art is a specific know-how that you will not encounter anywhere else.

We have travelled all other the world and we totally felt in love with the Balinese artists. Our emotions and impressions were such, through discovering the cultural wealth of the island that we wanted to share them with you.

Living, feeling, being, is something that most of us need to nurture. For artists living in Bali, it is an obvious fact, an innate gift that their extraordinary cultural heritage has handed down to them since time immemorial According to us, they have this “extra special something” and awesome social skills that bring them fabulous capacity of creation and imagination.

Clotilde, how your previous activity is an help for My O’BE ?

A silk scarf, it is a work of art! Something needs to happen when you look at it. It is again a question of feeling, emotion and creative vibrations. I really do like the quote from Pablo Picasso: «The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls ». I think that everything is said in this formidable quote.

How My O’BE selects its works of art?

First of all, there are the unmissable artists who are famous in Indonesia and that we rapidly met thanks to our our artistic spiritual father, Agung Gede Rai. Indeed, our meeting with the famous Agung, founder of the ARMA Museum in Ubud, world-renowned and recognized for his Balinese and international works of art, was a turning point in our decision to make Ubud, the cultural and artistic capital of Bali, a focal point for all our professional endeavours.

This incredible human encounter has led us to establish partnerships in order to promote our common passion for art. It is a great privilege to be able to count on Agung Gede Rai. He works with the most talented balinese artists but also with famous international artist such a Stephen Bennett, known for his portraits.

We also discovered artists by ourself staying always open-minded on each artwork seen every day. Then we had many “crushes” on lots of fabulous and talentuous artists.

It is a true asset for My O’BE to have such a great godfather!

Indeed, we are lucky and favored! it is a very beautiful collaboration on a human level. On the artistic and professional level, it is a guarantee of quality and authenticity.
